Beloved Bride: A Rainy Woodland Wedding
Perfect for this Travel Tuesday our Beloved Bride Alexa and her newly-wed husband Joseph who are self-proclaimed wilderness enthusiasts. Today we’ll be following this wanderlust couple to their rustic woodland fantasy wedding tucked away deep into the dewy forests of Jonson Park.
Our Beloved Bride Alexa loves a change of scenery, so it comes as no surprise that her wedding dress expectations would change just as much. “I originally thought I wanted a mermaid style silky dress with no beading or lace.”
Alexa went to Renee Austin and tried on a few dresses until she finally said “yes” to Style BL201 Destiny from our Romance Collection. “This one was the last one I tried and I immediately cried tears of pure happiness! It is PERFECT!”
This crystal beaded embroidered gown is bound to take everyone’s breath away with its romantic fit and flare silhouette.
The beaded wedding dress features a soft netting that is lightly layered over smooth perfecting satin to create a dreamy skirt that trickles down into a semi-chapel length train.
The fitted bodice of Destiny is perfectly beaded and embroidered to add a subtle sparkle that’ll leave a lasting impression on guests. The soft, glowing gown also entails a darling sweetheart neckline that is offset by a graceful low back.
Beloved Bride Alexa elaborates on how she and Joseph share a passion for the wilderness: “We LOVE camping, going to my family cabin in northern Michigan and everything outdoorsy.”
“In August 2016, Joseph and I took a trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He proposed to me on the cliffs of Spray Falls in Pictured Rocks, Michigan. We hiked 15 miles that day and when we got to the secluded falls overlooking Lake Superior (nearly 200 feet above lake level) he got down on one knee and proposed!”
Alexa beams about how her favourite thing about her husband is his consistent love and support. When it comes to surviving in the great outdoors, there’s no one else you can depend on like your significant other.
Naturally, the couple’s wedding details included simple organic pieces such as green foliage and small geometric rock candles as table centrepieces.
The reception was held inside of a beautiful enclose shelter. The orange glow from the candles and the dainty string lights from above created the perfect backdrop for an outdoor rustic wedding.
When asked what her favourite part of the wedding was Beloved Bride Alexa shared, “The first look with my dad. It was so emotional and special to see my dad’s sweet reaction and hear how happy he is for me. He had a scary health incident this year and I am just so thankful he was doing well and was there with me on my wedding. He is so important to me.”
Beloved Bride Alexa’s key advice to future brides is to, “Try to relax and enjoy the planning process. You will be just as married at the end of the day no matter how things go.”
